FIRST CITIZENS BANK C.A.R.E. (CITIZENS IN ACTION TO RESTORE THE ENVIRONMENT)

Conceptualised by Valdez & Torry International to enhance the bank's image as a responsible corporate citizen, First Citizens Bank C.A.R.E. is an environmental programme which brings together the bank’s staff, its clients and members of the public in various projects which seek to restore and preserve the environment. Projects under the First Citizens Bank C.A.R.E. umbrella include:

OPERATION RESTORATION
A project in which beaches, parks, buildings and other environmentally threatened areas are identified and restored by staff and clients. This project has become an annual event bringing much positive publicity for the bank.

FUN RUN
A fund-raising 5k fun run/walk which attracted thousands of participants during the years it was run. Funds raised have been used to establish:

A Tree Nursery the seedlings from which are being used to re-forest various denuded areas in Trinidad & Tobago.

An Office & Information Centre for world renowned Nature
Seekers Inc. a group which is involved in protection of endangered leatherback turtles which nest on our shores.

Bird-watching platforms on Little Tobago Bird Sanctuary.

So successful has this project been that First Citizens Bank C.A.R.E. was awarded the prestigious Green Leaf Award by the Environmental Management Authority.
