VTI Launched T&T's First Church’s Chicken Quick Service Restaurant

So successful was Valdez & Torry’s launch programme that the restaurant was inundated with customers eager to taste unique Church’s Chicken.

This launch programme included:
A Launch Function – featured in all the media and attended by
many dignitaries including Mayor Murchison Brown
Advertising Campaign – pre-launch menu distribution, pre-launch newspaper interviews and press releases, press and radio teasers, press and radio launch ads, post launch newspaper interviews and press releases.

As a result, Church’s Chicken Port of Spain restaurant is now the most successful in the world. Church’s Port of Spain launch is now the ideal in the Church’s Chicken International Franchise with the Chinese Franchisers

Francis Fashions/Shoe Locker

Since winning the Francis Fashions/Shoe Locker advertising portfolio many years ago, Valdez & Torry has played a leading role in the recent makeover and expansion of Francis Fashions/Shoe Locker beginning with a new logo design and cutting edge advertising and promotions and continuing with the massive multi-media launch of their flagship store in Port of Spain followed by other store launches in Chaguanas, Arima, Gulf City and Westmall.

NP Service Station and Convenience Store Upgrade

A massive undertaking with repercussions for the entire country, the Trinidad & Tobago National Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd. (the state-owned petroleum marketing company) upgraded its more than 200 Service Stations across the country.

The function announcing the commencement of this upgrade and the unveiling of the new facilities was conceptualised and coordinated by Valdez & Torry International and held at the Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre.

NP’s updated Logo – a Valdez & Torry concept – was unveiled by the Prime Minister of Trinidad Tobago at this function.

International Concerts For Rothman's International

Of a very different nature is the series of concerts successfully staged by the agency on behalf of client Rothman’s International.

Dubbed the Craven A Smooth Summer Concerts, the concerts featured huge international stars including 5-time Grammy Award Winner Lauryn Hill, DMX, Method Man, Super Cat et al. These Concerts were attended by over 70,000 paying patrons.

The agency also produced several other concerts featuring international acts (Quiet Riot, Warrant) on behalf of clients.

TIDCO Miami Seminars

The agency designed and coordinated two Investment Seminars and Exhibitions hosted by TIDCO in Miami, USA and attended by the Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago and Florida’s Lieutenant Governor.

A VTI team, led by Steven Valdez managed the event which lasted several days. The agency designed and printed the seminar agendas and other printed material for distribution at the seminars.

BP/AMOCO/Ministry of Consumer Affairs "Read to Succeed" Campaign Launch

In addition to conceptualising and executing the award-winning advertising for this public service programme encouraging young people to read, Valdez & Torry International also produced the project’s launch function attended by the Minister of Consumer Affairs and other dignitaries.

HADCO Food Fair

A three-temperature distribution company – dry, chilled and frozen – HADCO services supermarket chains and independent operators, hotels and a growing number of restaurants.

To showcase the many lines it distributes to its clients and potential clients, HADCO hosted a Grand International Food Fair at the Trinidad Hilton Ballroom in October 2003.

Valdez & Torry International designed the layout for the show, working closely with the client to produce invitations and programmes, write speeches, and co-ordinate between HADCO’s many foreign and local suppliers.

The show was a resounding success, fully attended throughout its duration.

CSME (CARICOM Single Market and Economy) Unit Launch & Campaign

As part of Trinidad and Tobago’s committment to the CARICOM Single Market and Economy to facilitate trade with the international community, the Government of Trinidad & Tobago formed a CSME Unit.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs chose Valdez & Torry International to launch its CSME Unit to the public. The agency coordinated the launch function which was attended by dignitaries from all member states.

One of the main functions of the CSME Unit is a Public Information Programme about the CSME. Working closely with CSME Unit officials, Valdez & Torry International designed, developed and executed a successful programme including press, radio and television advertising as well as media conferences and releases and a series of community meetings across the country.

Hurricane Ivan Relief Fund

Responding to the critical need of the people of Grenada after that island was devastated by Hurricane Ivan, Valdez & Torry International conceptualised and coordinated the Hurricane Ivan Relief Fund.

A major media conference involving representatives of several prominent businesses, NGOs and the media was organised virtually overnight. The response to this public appeal for assistance for Grenada has been tremendous. And the effort continues with VTI continuing to liaise between donors and NGOs in both Grenada and T&T to coordinate the relief effort.

No Time For Crime - Ministry of Sport & Youth Affairs

Playing our part in the fight against crime in Trinidad and Tobago, Valdez & Torry International was responsible for the launch, press and radio advertising for the Ministry of Sport & Youth Affairs’ No Time for Crime Community Cricket Programme. Attracting the participation of over 200 teams from across the country, the programme targets youth, by attempting to involve them in positive activities such as sport, thus leaving them no time to participate in illegal activities.

Launch of Haagen-Dazs Trinidad

This world famous ice cream brand chose Valdez & Torry International to handle the launch of its first Café in Trinidad & Tobago. Valdez & Torry International acted as event managers for the launch – designing and printing invitations and programmes, writing speeches, consulting on the décor, audio/visual system and entertainment for the launch ceremony.

First Citizens Bank C.A.R.E. (Citizens in Action to Restore the Environment)

Conceptualised by Valdez & Torry International to enhance the bank’s image as a responsible corporate citizen, First Citizens Bank C.A.R.E. is an environmental programme which brings together the bank’s staff, its clients and members of the public in various projects which seek to restore and preserve the environment. Projects under the First Citizens Bank C.A.R.E. umbrella include:

OPERATION RESTORATION
A project in which beaches, parks, buildings and other environmentally threatened areas are identified and restored by staff and clients. This project has become an annual event bringing much positive publicity for the bank.

FUN RUN
A fund-raising 5k fun run/walk which attracted thousands of participants during the years it was run. Funds raised have been used to establish:

A Tree Nursery the seedlings from which are being used to re-forest various denuded areas in Trinidad & Tobago.

An Office & Information Centre for world renowned Nature
Seekers Inc. a group which is involved in protection of endangered leatherback turtles which nest on our shores.

Bird-watching platforms on Little Tobago Bird Sanctuary.

So successful has this project been that First Citizens Bank C.A.R.E. was awarded the prestigious Green Leaf Award by the Environmental Management Authority.
